Karma and mindfulness

So breakfast’s talk this morning was around karma.

How you can stack karma points. How you can consciously spend them. How the universe rules. And how when you feel a little guilt doing something that uses your karma points you actually spend less points than if you would have taken it for granted.

Nice huh!

I know, my mind is blown and it only is 10 am.

What do you think when it comes to karma?

The way we approached it this morning was very much game-like. (That’s how you end up thinking when you live with a video gamer #notjudging )

And as my mum put it nicely:

  • she’s been such a good citizen and good person so far she feels she made it up for some less glorious past lives
  • she actually doesn’t care and doesn’t keep count of her points

It’s nice to imagine you can do good actions and that will allow you to genuinely forget paying that ticket or not letting that pedestrian cross without consequences. The Universe supports that. Once in a while we are allowed not to be perfect, even slightly mean, as long as we don’t mean it.

It definitely is a guide to well behaved and well mannered people but somehow it makes me feel lighter to imagine that there are some kind of karmic rules. And that you can play with them. you don’t have to be witness and just wait for the verdict you have a say in it. There are decisions to be consciously made.

It’s up to us.

We are responsible for our lives.

I like that story.

And since we don’t know for sure what story needs to be told.

I’ll just stick to my version for now. 😀

Have a good day!
